The Platinum Maki-e #58 Red Mount Fuji combines ease of use with hand-applied gold and silver leaf to create a writing instrument which can serve as a superb introduction to the world of Japanese fountain pens.
We are an authorized Platinum dealer.
The Platinum #58 Red Mount Fuji offers an unusual combination of traditional craft and exceptional value - the pen surface features hand-applied gold and silver leaf from the traditional craft center of Kanazawa on the west coast of Japan, and each pen is equipped with your choice of 18k solid gold nib.
The motif depicts a red Mount Fuji at sunrise - gold leaf is used for the mountain itself, silver leaf for its snow-capped peak, and gold and silver leaf combined for the clouds overhead. Kanazawa gold and silver leaf craft has a history stretching back for more than four hundred years, and the region is now responsible for almost all gold and silver leaf production in Japan.
The Red Mount Fuji is a cartridge-converter pen which can use either Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges, or any bottled fountain pen ink when using the complimentary converter provided by us with your order. The snap-action cap adds to this pen's convenience, making it the perfect fountain pen for anyone with an on-the-go lifestyle.
Each pen arrives in a special presentation box, and we carefully inspect, test, and optimize each pen for your own personal writing characteristics before shipping.

The Zen Of Fine Writing
Sad news, Friends... Our physical store in Biltmore Village has been completely destroyed. It's been devastating for us and has been emotionally hard to process or even get our minds around. The flood waters basically swirled all the way to the ceilings, literally smashing everything to bits and leaving everything coated in toxic mud.
During our transition we have set up a "Current Offerings" category where we will be adding new items daily. We're hoping this will help us bridge the gap during our transition. So please keep checking back as you will find something new each time you stop by.
If any of you feel inclined, we have set up a Go Fund Me site for donations. Here is the link to that: https://www.gofundme.com/f/join-us-in-restoring-a-beloved-local-haven
